A Monongalia County man is behind bars after allegedly trying to "cut up" his wife.

State Police arrested Jamie Ray Nethken and charged him with malicious wounding.

According to a criminal complaint, police were dispatched to a domestic dispute last week where a verbal argument turned violent.

The victim told police that during an argument, Nethken struck her with a sword, hitting her in the head and neck. The victim told police he was also shouting that he should have cut her up a long time ago.

Nethken is in North Central Regional Jail with bail set at $75,000.
