The Clarksburg Police Department is investigating a two vehicle accident that happened at 11 a.m. Thursday on Route 50 near the Old Bridgeport Hill intersection.
According to police, a silver Nissan Rogue was driving on Route 50 when it drove into a green minivan that was stopped at a stop light.
The driver of the Nissan told police that she was looking at another vehicle that was on the side of the road and was distracted while driving, causing her to hit the stopped minivan.
The woman was unconscious when police first arrived on scene but gained consciousness when the front of her Nissan caught fire. Police said the woman was then able to get herself out of the car.
The woman, along with three people including one juvenile who were in the minivan, were all taken to United Hospital Center for observation, according to police. Names and conditions are unknown at this time.
The Harrison County Sheriff's Department, Clarksburg Fire Department and Harrison County EMS also responded to the scene.
