Harrison County Commission Adopts Bath Salt Ordinance, Prepares for Budget Decisions

Posted: Updated:

The Harrison County Commission has adopted a bath salt ordinance.

The ordinance makes it illegal to advertise, distribute, purchase, possess, or use bath salts and other synthetic drugs including K-2 and Spice.

The Prosecuting Attorney's office said bath salts are the worst drug it's seen and attributes it to more cases of child neglect.

Commission is also preparing for budget decisions.

County offices, including the County Clerk and sheriff's department, have presented their budget proposals for the 2013-2014 fiscal year.

Commission will review those proposals and then draft and submit its own budget to the state auditors office by March 28.
