PICKENS -

Hundreds of people from all over the area flooded the small town of Pickens Saturday for its annual Maple Syrup Festival.

There were plenty of things for people of all ages to take part in.

Events ranged from arts and crafts shows to wood carving demonstrations.

Many people said it's a yearly tradition to come to Pickens to get their pancakes smothered in fresh maple syrup.

"Eat pancakes with good maple syrup they have here and look around at all their new crafts they have. We love looking at those," Kimberly Quinn said.

"It's family oriented," Glenn Broadwater said. "They have activities for every age group. There's lots of good crafts and local West Virginia produced items."

The festival wraps up on Sunday.
