MORGANTOWN -

Spring is the time of year when chickens lay eggs, Easter bunnies deliver them, and we are supposed hunt for them.

That wasn't the case Saturday at Marilla Park in Morgantown.

Dogs did the egg hunting at Animals Friends' Annual Canine Easter Egg Fetch.

Animal Friends said the event is not a fundraiser, but more of a social event for the dogs and their owners.

"We've been doing this for maybe ten years. We just came up with the idea and thought why should the kids be the only ones that get to have fun," said Ronda Smith, the Animal Friends Chair Person. "The dogs seem to enjoy getting out, making new friends and just enjoying the day."

Some of the animals in the egg fetch were dogs adopted out by Animal Friends.

Others were from around the community.
