Author David A. Corbin will be the guest of the Charleston Ballet's mixed bill program called Partners and Pairs. The performance includes Square Dance, a ballet to the fiddle tunes of the late Sen. Robert C. Byrd.

This program will take place at 7:30 p.m. March 22 and 23 at the Charleston Civic Center Theater.

Corbin, author of the book, "The Last Great Senator Robert C. Byrd's Encounters with Eleven U. S. Presidents," will be in attendance to do a book signing. He served as a congressional staffer for 26 years, including six years with Byrd. He also served as Senator Byrd's speechwriter for the last 10 years of his career.

He has written extensively on American social and labor history and American politics.  Corbin is also the author of "The West Virginia Mine Wars: An Anthology" and "Life, Work, and Rebellion in the Coal Fields: The Southern West Virginia Miners, 1880–1920." Corbin earned his bachelor and master's degrees from Marshall University.

Tickets may be purchased in advance for $20 for adults and $15 for students and seniors. They are available at the Civic Center box office, Backstage Bodywear and at the Charleston Ballet office at 100 Capitol Street, Suite 302, or online at tickets@thecharlestonballet.com. Tickets at the door will be $25 and $20.
