When students at two Monongalia County Elementary Schools left Tuesday they did so for the last time.
Tuesday was the last day for students at Easton and Woodburn Elementary schools. The two buildings have a combined age of 190 years.
The more than 400 students will begin class on April 3 at the new Eastwood Elementary School on the Mileground in Morgantown.
Teacher said the students can't wait.
"They've been apart of the process since the very beginning. The students selected the name, they selected the school colors, they selected the mascots. They're so invested in building to know that it's all for them, I think that's what they're most excited about," said DeAnn Hartshorn, Eastwood Elementary principal.
As for the colors, they are blue and green, and the mascot will be the black bears.
