"Asana" and "gynarchy" were the magic words for the winner of the 2013 RESA 7 Regional Spelling Bee.
Louis Aldridge, 11, of Bridgeport beat out more than 50 students from nine counties to win the title Wednesday night at the Bridgeport Conference Center.
The competition was for students in grades 4 through 8.
Aldridge, who is homeschooled, had big shoes to fill. His siblings have won the competition for the last three years.
Up next for Aldridge: a trip to Washington, D.C. for the National Scripps Howard Spelling Bee in May.
