A civil suit has been settled against the man convicted of killing Monongalia County Sheriff's Deputy Sergeant Michael Todd May.

Court documents said insurance companies for the sheriff's department and Jerod Green will pay May's estate more than $2 million.

About $700,000 will go toward attorney fees and funeral expenses.

The other $1.3 million will be split between May's parents and his brother.
