WV Educators Discuss iPad Teaching Strategies

Posted: Updated:

About 50 teachers from around the state were in Cheat Lake on Friday talking about new technology in the classroom.

The program was hosted by the West Virginia Center for Professional Development.

Heidi Hamric, technology integration specialist from Tucker County Schools, said she learned a lot, especially about useful techniques to keep kids interested in the classroom.

"Ways of engaging kids in using technology, not just in sitting there with their face in the screen, but actually getting them, being creative, getting them to communicate with each other," Hamric said.

These technology events will be going on throughout the state. To find out more about the events, check out the events page  on the West Virginia Center for Professional Development's website.
