Tavon Austin was one of the top college football players in the nation last year for the West Virginia Mountaineers.
He paid a visit to the Meadowbrook Mall in Bridgeport on Saturday to sign autographs for fans of all ages.
Austin was the recipient of several awards this season, but none may be any bigger than the Paul Hornung Award, which is given to the nation's most versatile player.
The NFL Draft is right around the corner towards the end of April. Austin is considered by many NFL teams as a solid first round prospect.
He said his four years in Morgantown have been a blessing, but meeting his fans may be the best feeling of all.
"A lot of fans come out here. There's a lot of older women and younger guys. They come up and hug me and tell me they love me and I'm their best player. So it's the type of thing when I was a kid, I liked to do. It just feels good that somebody was paying it back to me," Austin said.
