A Morgantown family was featured on the Today Show's "Quest for the Best" segment Tuesday morning.

This "quest" is searching for the best themed party, and the Tidd family is a finalist.

They planned a birthday party for their 1-year-old son, Peyton, this summer with a unique sports theme.

"I kind of came up with a ‘Go Peyton, Peyton is Number 1' theme with the idea he's turning one and he is number one," mom Kara Tidd said, "he's the number one little guy in our hearts."

The sports theme carried through the entire event.

"We ended up inviting all of the guests over to the stadium, which was our house, and we had a concession stand," Tidd said. "His grandfathers were there and they dressed as referees. His older sister was the head cheerleader."

A friend suggested Kara enter the competition.

"And I thought hey, well you never know," Tidd said.

The pressure is on for Tuesday morning's show. Tidd has to re-create the party, but on a much smaller scale.

"There's so much that I want to do and I have about a three foot table so I'm just kind of doing a miniature version of everything," Tidd said.

The whole Tidd family will be featured in the segment. Big sister Emma will have her cheerleader outfit, and Peyton will have a bigger version of his "Number 1" jersey.

"It would be nice to be deemed the winner but if not, the whole experience is going to be a fun time and a good thing," Tidd said.
