After several months of fundraising and tons of community support the group 'Friends of McKinney Field' has reached its $310,000 goal.

The group reached its goal on Friday after it received a donation of $20,000.

John Bord said construction to replace the grass with turf will begin in early May.

Bord said a Grafton alumni has donated a brand new digital football scoreboard and people are continuing to donate.

"We have some people looking into purchasing a brand new soccer scoreboard. So we are actually going to have two scoreboards at McKinney Field let alone with the turf. People have given its unbelievable. It's just been unbelievable," Bord said.

Friends of McKinney Field is putting on a concert Wednesday night to raise money for additional field upgrades.

Country band, "Taylor Made" will perform at Grafton High School beginning at 7 p.m.

Tickets will be sold at the door for $20.
