The Valley Volunteer Fire Department is investigating a structure fire in Marion County Wednesday afternoon.
The fire started around 12:53 p.m. at Deerfield Estates on Brierwood Lane in White Hall. When crews arrived at the scene, the house was fully involved in flames.
Firefighters are still working to determine how the fire started. The State Fire Marshal's Office may be called in to investigate, according to the Valley VFD.
One woman was inside the home at the time of the fire and had to be flown to Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown by Healthnet. A passerby noticed the fire and went inside the home to drag the woman out. She sustained second degree burns on her shoulders and suffered from smoke inhalation. Her name has not been released. Healthnet landed at Apple Valley Golf Course.
Boothsville, Monongah, Winfield, Bunners Ridge and Barrackville Volunteer Fire Departments, the Marion County Sheriff's Department and the Marion County Rescue Squad also responded to the scene.
