BUCKHANNON -

The Harlem Legends will be in Upshur County next week for a charity basketball game.

They'll take on the Upshur All-Stars April 5 at Buckhannon Upshur High School.

The Legends are an outreach of the Michael Douglas Youth Foundation.  Legends founder and former Harlem Globetrotter Cpt. Michael Douglas has traveled to over 100 countries entertaining crowds, sharing a positive attitude and embracing diversity.

The Legends team includes former players of the Harlem Globetrotters, NBA, NFL, USA Olympians, and other professional athletes. Along with Douglas, the Legends players will include Former Harlem Globetrotters Tyrone "Hollywood" Brown, Larry "Shorty" Coleman, Elbert "Tree" Gordon, NBA great and current Atlanta Hawks announcer Mike Glenn and other professionals.

The foundation tries to help local schools and community groups raise money and spread a positive message to young people.

"Through all of our activities from the celebrity basketball show to the kid's basketball camp we want the kids they can do and be anything that they dream, overcome the obstacles, and we just we want to be those positive role models to reinforce that," Douglas said.

Tickets are $13. The doors will open at 6:30 p.m. and the game will start at 7 p.m.

The Upshur All Stars promise an afternoon of fun and entertainment with some of the area's finest educators, law enforcement, politicians, coaches, and business and community leaders.

Under the leadership of Magic 106.5's Coach Jack Logar, the Upshur All Stars include Police Chief Matt Gregory, Upshur Co. School Superintendent Scott Lampinen, Fire Chief Mitch Tacy, Deputy C. J.
