MORGANTOWN -

Some local pageant girls were thinking pink on Saturday.

The Pretty In Pink Pageant in Morgantown raised money for the Susan G. Koeman Foundation. 77 contestants competed in the pageant.

The organizer of the event, Sherry Belldina, is a breast cancer survivor and appreciates the people coming out to support the cause.

"You know everybody comes out to support the cause. Everyone is so pleasant and nice," said Belldina. "We do this for fundraising, but the most important thing for us is to get that awareness out there. That there is this dreadful disease."

The event raised $11,000 last year and the proceeds exceeded that this year.
