2 Teens Killed in Harrison County Accident

The Harrison County Sheriff's Department has identified two Upshur County teenagers that were injured and later died in a vehicle accident near the 128 mile marker on Interstate 79 north bound early Saturday morning.

Dalton Tenney, 19, the driver of the vehicle, and the female passenger, Kaitlyn Hamilton, 17 were both ejected from the vehicle and were transported to Ruby Memorial Hospital where they later died.

Both Tenney and Hamilton were from Upshur County, according to the Harrison County Sheriff Albert Marano.

Tenney is believed to have lost control of the vehicle and traveled into the guardrail. Speed may have been a factor in the accident, said Marano.

The Harrison County Sheriff's Department is still investigating.

Update:

The Harrison County Sheriff's Department has released that Dalton Tenney was the driver of the vehicle.

The female passenger's name is not being released because she is still considered a juvenile.

Both were from Upshur County.

According to Chief Johnson of the Harrison County Sheriff's Department the female passenger of the vehicle has now also died of injuries sustained in the accident.

One person has died after an accident in Harrison County early Saturday morning.

The Harrison County Sheriff's Department said a vehicle traveling north on Interstate 79 lost control and went into the guard rail at the 128 mile marker.

Both the male driver and the female passenger were ejected from the vehicle.

Both were transported to Ruby Memorial Hospital.

The 19-year-old man died from his injuries and the 17-year-old woman is in critical condition.

The Harrison County Sheriff's Department is still investigating.
