A Marion County neighborhood association wants to do away with all-terrain vehicles, or ATVs.

The Country Club Estates Association has asked the Marion County Commission to pass an ordinance outlawing ATVs in its neighborhood.

The association cited unsafe driving and intrusion of private property as reasons for the proposed ordinance.

"They said they are causing damage out there. We have the authority to help them and we can assist them in putting together an ATV, UTV everything they want to keep off the property there, a petition," sad Randy Elliot, Marion County commissioner.

The Marion County Commission has asked the Country Club Estates Association for a signed petition supporting the proposed ordinance.
