Landau Eugene Murphy Jr., the Logan resident and former winner "America's Got Talent," will perform 7 p.m. April 6 at the Charleston Municipal Auditorium. The concert is a benefit for the Community Music Association and Junior Achievement of West Virginia.

The Landau Spring Fling will include new songs along with tunes, including a "Murphy Meets Motown" section of the show, according to promoter Burke Allen. The Charleston Ballet will also make a brief appearance at the concert.

"But you'll still get to experience the same warm, fun, friendly Landau that won America's hearts and represents West Virginia so well," said Allen.

Murphy has become somewhat of a world traveler. Recent appearances include an Armed Forces
Entertainment tour of Europe to perform for members of the U.S. Military and the "China's Got Talent" program seen by more than 300 million viewers.

The former car wash employee has performed for an NBA crowd and in scheduled to appear in Las
Vegas, and Beverly Hills, according to Allen. He has begun rehearsals for his second album.

"I'm honored to help raise funds for Junior Achievement of West Virginia and for my friends at the
Community Music Association, and am really looking forward to coming back to Charleston to play at the Municipal Auditorium," Murphy stated in a release.

Tickets, priced at $25, $35 and $40, are on sale at the Charleston Civic Center box office, via telephone at 800-745-3000 and at www.ticketmaster.com/event/16004A459737389F.
