Lincoln High School Students Build Playground

Posted: Updated:

Students from a local high school are making one park a little more kid-friendly.

Lincoln High School students worked together to build a playground at Ferguson Memorial Park. The students are members of the school's Youth Leadership Team, as well as its Safe and Supportive Schools Team. One student said this playground will fill a void in the community.

"We basically just get satisfaction from getting to help the younger kids," said Lincoln junior Ty Seibel. "I know when we were younger, we came here, we played, and we obviously didn't have all the nice stuff they're going to have. But it's just the satisfaction of knowing they're going to have nicer stuff than we did, and it's more of an area to go to."

Lincoln's Youth Leadership Team was founded in March, and the playground is its first project.
