West Virginia University's hosted its first "Move WELL" event.

Residents of Fieldcrest Hall gathered together to work out and have a little friendly competition.

Move WELL is a part of WELL WVU's initiative to get students wanting to be active and moving.

The residents divided up into teams held various relay races. They also did stretching, yoga, and strength training.

"Basically we're just trying to help them understand that movement can be fun, that it should be enjoyable and that it should be something that they want to do not something they feel like they have to do, so team competition in a residential dorm like this is always a lot of fun," said Shannon Foster, WELL WVU Health Educator.

This was just one of many events to come for Move WELL. On Thursday, there will be another event held at the Life Science Building on the downtown campus starting at 7 p.m.
