Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum Seeing Plenty of Business After Reopening for Season

Posted: Updated:

A recently-reopened landmark is already bringing in brisk business.

The Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum hasn't been open for two weeks yet this year, but the staff said it's had plenty of visitors.

The Asylum opened this year with a new tour of the farm and cemetery behind the building which has attracted more visitors.

But the staff said even the basic tours get plenty of repeat business.

"We get a lot of people who come in for the first floor tour, and they don't have time to take a four-floor, but they say 'we'll be back,' and they do come back and take a four-floor tour," said Sue Parker, TALA tour guide.
