MORGANTOWN -

This years National Robotics Week runs from April 6th through the 14th.

The Children's Discovery Museum of West Virginia hosted robotics day on Saturday in honor of the week.

The Mountaineer Area Robotics team, or MARS, was at the museum to display some of its robots for the public to see.

Children got the chance to drive the robots and learn more about them.

"We take cutting edge robotics that we do on the high school level, and here we get to work with kindergarten and elementary kids to see what can be done if you put some effort in and try for it," said Phillip Tucker, mentor for MARS.

MARS will be competing at the First Robotic World Championship in St. Louis on April 23rd.
