Chestnut Mountain Ranch Holds Spring Mud Run

MORGANTOWN -

Chestnut Mountain Ranch held its spring edition of a mud run Saturday.

The run is 3.8 miles long with obstacles including a swamp run, greased monkey bars, and a fire jump.

The race also offered a mini mud run for the kids.

Organizers said these kinds of races are tough, and that's what a lot of people enjoy about it.

"These races have really become popular across the country and I think people like the challenge, the idea of overcoming obstacles, and the idea of testing themselves to see how far they can go. Chestnut Mountain Ranch is a lot about helping kids and families overcome obstacles so we thought it was a good fit," said Trey Dunham, one of the organizers for the mud run.

WBOY's Jason Parrish and Matt Hauswirth competed in the race on Saturday.

Due to a large number of people who registered for the mud run,  day two of the race will happen on Sunday.
