    The militant group ISIS has beheaded four Western hostages, two from the United States and two from Britain. Monday night, WVU's Muslim Association held a vigil for one of the murdered American journalist.

The week of April 28-May 4 will be declared as "Coal Education Week in West Virginia by a proclamation of the governor this week.

The proclamation will be presented to Georgene Robertson, president of the Coal Education Development and Resource of Southern West Virginia (CEDAR) on Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. According to a release, 35 Omar Elementary Scholl fourth graders will join the presentation.

One of CEDAR's primary activities is the Southern West Virginia Regional Coal Fair held annually at the Harless Community Center. It will be held during Coal Education Week for the 12th year in a row.

The organization works with teachers and students in West Virginia and Kentucky to provide educational materials on the benefits of the coal industry.
