A new option for schooling could be on the way in Bridgeport.

Life Builders Fellowship Church is forming a partnership with the Liberty University Online Academy and may become its next satellite campus.

Students in grades third through 12th could participate in the program and earn their diploma online.

"They handle all of the scholastic issues. We are mentors here simply to monitor the young people as they do their classes. All of the work is done on the computer, over the Internet," said Don Johnson, of Life Builders Fellowship Church.

Johnson said the online academy would accept about 20 students in its first year which looks to be the 2014-2015 school year.

It will hold a public meeting at Life Builders Fellowship Church Thursday at 7 p.m.
