The Elkins Police Department has arrested and charged a Montrose woman in connection to her involvement in a March bomb threat at Elkins High School.

Amanda Marie Starliper, 18, a student at Elkins High School, is charged with conspiracy to commit a terroristic act.  The Elkins Police Department received a call on March 20 from Elkins High School personnel saying that they found a bomb threat written on a wall in the school that included a specific time of detonation, according to a criminal complaint.

After an extensive search, law enforcement didn't find a bomb on the EHS campus. The investigation led officers to a female juvenile suspect who identified two other people who were involved, including another juvenile and Starliper.

Police said the juveniles involved wrote a statement that was signed by their parents which identified Starliper as the person who advised and coerced the juvenile suspect who wrote the message. The juvenile's statement said Starliper told her to write the bomb threat message and said specifically what to write. The students wanted a day off from school and this was a good way to do it, according to the criminal complaint.

Starliper is being held in Tygart Valley Regional Jail on $25,000 bail.
