Authorities responded to a vehicle rollover accident on Interstate 79 southbound near the 112 mile marker that happened just before 11:30 a.m. Thursday.
A man, identified as Michael Stroute, 40 of Princeton, was driving a PT Cruiser when he traveled off the shoulder, over corrected and traveled up an embankment before landing behind the guard rail on the vehicle's top.
The Harrison County Sheriff's Department said Stroute had to be removed from his car and was flown to Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown by Healthnet, according to the Harrison County Sheriff's Department. The extent of his injuries is currently unknown.
One lane of I-79 was closed while the vehicle is being removed from the road.
The Lost Creek Fire Department, Stonewood Fire Department, Nutter Fort Fire Department, Anmoore EMS and the Harrison County Sheriff's Department responded to the scene.
