1 Business Cited After 2 Alcohol Compliance Checks in Monongalia County

One business was cited following two alcohol compliance checks conducted by the Monongalia County Sheriff's Office on April 11 and April 18, according to a news release from the sheriff's department.

The 10 businesses checked by the sheriff's department on April 11 were all in compliance and didn't sell to an underage operative, the sheriff's department said.

The 10 businesses that did not sell were:

  • Wal-Mart on Hornbeck Road
  • Pilot on Smithtown Road
  • Circle-K on Grafton Road
  • Bell's on Grafton Road
  • Go-Mart on Grafton Road
  • Get-Go on Don Knotts Boulevard
  • Circle-K in Westover
  • Rite-Aid in Westover
  • BFS in Westover
  • Exxon in Westover

On April 18, a second check was conducted at 9 businesses. Of those 9 businesses, one sold to the underage operative, according to the news release.

The 8 businesses that did not sell were:

  • Belko Foods on Mason Dixon Highway
  • Statler Country Store on Mason Dixon Highway
  • Sheetz in Chaplin
  • Giant Eagle at the University Town Center
  • Wal-Mart at the University Town Center
  • Target at the University Town Center
  • Sheetz on Boyers Avenue
  • 7-Eleven on Mason Dixon Highway

The business that did sell to the underage operative on April 18 was Twins Grocery on the Mason Dixon Highway, according to the news release.

Twins Grocery employee Todd Tuttle, 50, was cited for selling to the underage operative.
