The second annual Wild Warrior Challenge starts at 10 a.m. from Mylan Park in Monongalia County on Saturday.
The event is similar to a mud run, testing the strength and endurance of its competitors.
Last year, dry conditions meant organizers had to bring in water in order to create mud for the course, but this year that will not be a problem.
"This year we have a lot of new obstacles, we revised and learned from last year. The course has been made to accommodate more people this year. We have four rope bridges crossing a pond, we've got some slant walls, and a lot more obstacles that are common for what we use in training soldiers," WVU Army ROTC Master Sgt. John Feiler said.
The money raised for the event benefits 'Operation Welcome Home', and the Monongalia and Preston County Family Readiness Groups.
