Rep. David McKinley, R-W.Va., has been named co-chair of the Bicameral Congressional Arthritis Caucus.

The mission of the caucus is to serve as a clearinghouse for information or arthritis. The caucus works to raise awareness and educates members on how it affects their communities.

"It is an honor to be named co-chair of such an important caucus," McKinley said.  "This caucus will work in a bipartisan way to educate our fellow Members on why Arthritis is the leading cause of disability in this country, impacting millions of Americans."

McKinley said expanding access to information to people with arthritis is a priority.

"On behalf of the 50 million Americans living with arthritis, I want to thank Congressman McKinley for his continued support as a true champion for those living with chronic, painful, debilitating and costly diseases, like arthritis," said John H. Klippel, president and CEO of the Arthritis Foundation. "We look forward to our continued partnership and working closely with the congressman in his new role as co-chair of the Congressional Arthritis Caucus."
