A Harrison County community held a fundraiser to support a local cause on Sunday.

Members of the Marshville community organized the first John Randolph Spaghetti Dinner.

Proceeds which included a silent auction and bake sale, will go to support Fort New Salem.

Randolph founded the fort decades ago while he was a professor at Salem College.

The fort's chairman said the funding will be put to immediate use restoring another building at the fort.

"We're just about at the total amount that we need to get started on the cabin, so hopefully this will get us there or push us over the top," said Joseph Audia, chairman of Fort New Salem Foundation.

Fort New Salem will host its annual art show this coming weekend, also named after Randolph.
