Lewis County Historical Group to Replace Heating, Air Conditioning Systems

A Lewis County historical group will get some needed upgrades thanks to the governor's office.

The Lewis County Commission has received a grant for the Hackers Creek Pioneer Descendants Genealogy Library in Horner.

The grant will help to replace the heating and air conditioning systems in the building.

Commission President Pat Boyle said the library is important to the history of the county.

"The Hackers Creek Pioneer Descendants building is a historical building, and genealogy updates a lot of history here and is as important as the courthouse is, so it was great that we got that participation grant from the Governor's office," Boyle said.

Boyle said the commission has also received grants to support other landmarks in the county, like the Mountaineer Military Museum.
