BRIDGEPORT -

A silent walk/run was held in Bridgeport on Monday to honor all of the people affected by the tragedy at the Boston Marathon bombings.

The Harrison County YMCA hosted the walk at Bridgeport City Park.

One of the organizers said runners are like a family, so she wanted to show support.

"It's a family thing. You feel it and have a brotherhood when you pass someone running. You always get a smile, a wave, some encouragement. We all felt it and it's important for everyone. We wanted to show our support and show that we're feeling it all across the country," said Melissa Romano of the YMCA.

Morgantown Running also held a walk/run in Morgantown on Monday.
