Eastwood Elementary Students Participate in "What Earth Day Means to You' Contest

Posted: Updated:

Tuesday wasn't "technically" Earth Day, but really, everyday is Earth Day.

That was the theme for this year's KeyLogic Systems "What Earth Day Means To You" picture contest.

Fourth graders at Eastwood Elementary School were asked to draw pictures depicting what earth day meant to them. The winner got there picture on a T-shirt handed out to each student.

KeyLogic Systems offers technical and management services that focus on the environment.

"What this year's entries, and the past couple of year's entries have shown us is the kids these days get it. And they're taking personal responsibility into getting involved and finding ways that they can make a difference in terms of recycling and picking up trash," said Carey Butler, of KeyLogic Systems.

This year's winner was Willow Colebank. The shirts given to students were made out of recycled materials.
