The Philippi Public Library is looking to build up a different kind of literacy this week.

The library is hosting Money Smart Week, and is offering events to teach people different ways to care for their money.

Events this week will include classes and presentations on how to invest your money, or how to manage the money you already have.

Librarian Judy Larry said topics like these are often asked for, especially by those on the job hunt.

"People are out searching for jobs and things like that, so I imagine that if they don't have jobs or are searching for a better jobs, they also might be searching for ways and means to find better information about budgeting or better information about consumer credit," Larry said.

Contact the Philippi Public Library at 304-457-3495 for more information on events this week.
