2 Marion County Organizations Receive Funds from WV Development Office

Two Marion County organizations have been granted funding for upcoming projects by the West Virginia Development Office.

The Community Participation Program funds came to the Marion County Commission who will pass it on to Hope Incorporated and the Disability Action Center.

Officials said $25,000 will allow Hope to renovate part of the Army Reserve Center as a domestic violence shelter.

According to officials, $8,000 will allow the Disability Action Center to install outdoor accessibility features.

"I'm very proud of our local delegates, our local legislature. The team we have in Charleston now is very, very strong are able to bring money back to Marion County for very worthy causes," said Randy Elliot, of the Marion County Commission.

The organizations can begin to work on their projects in the coming months.
