MONONGALIA COUNTY -

The Clarksburg Mission held its tenth annual 'Night of Hope' at the Bridgeport Conference Center Friday night.

The event has helped the mission purchase new beds, build a women's and children's shelter, and more.

It hopes to raise anywhere from $40,000 to $50,000.

The Mission said the money raised Friday night will help more than 100 homeless people a night in the Clarksburg area.

"This is just an incredibly important event for us. A lot of work goes in it, a lot of energy gets poured into this; but it is really a night for us not to just raise money but to raise awareness about homelessness," said Chris Mullett, Executive Director of the Clarksburg Mission.

The Clarksburg Mission said it is always looking for volunteers.

If you would like to help out you can call the Mission at (304) 622-2451.
