SHINNSTON -

It was only a few short months ago when Harrison County Board on Education was trying to ban high school dances due to scandalous dancing.

Lincoln High School held its junior class prom Saturday night and no scandalous dancing was involved.

In order to fit the elegant theme, "My Heart Will Go On" from the Titanic, the prom court decided to take ballroom lessons and perform a dance for students, family, and friends.

24 students from the prom court showed their choreographed dance in the schools gym.

Emily Knight, Junior Class President, explained why they chose ballroom dancing

"Well as you know, our theme was 'My Heart Will Go On' from the Titanic which was an elegant and classy setting," Knight said. "We thought ballroom dancing would be pretty classy and elegant to go along with our theme."

Tim and Allison Escolopio, owners and instructors of Clarksburg's Social Ballroom, taught the students their routine.
