A Tiger for Life: Delaney Johnson Signs LOI to Swim at Princeton

ELKINS -

Once a Tiger, always a Tiger, that's at least what they were saying in Elkins on Monday as the Tiger's Delaney Johnson signed her national letter of intent to swim at Princeton.

The former state champion grabbed a pair of silvers at the state tournament this year and was named the Big 10 swimmer of the year.

Academically, she's equally as strong. Johnson said her weighted GPA is a 4.48 and while chances to swim at WVU and Youngstown State were appealing, ultimately Princeton was the right fit.

"Princeton was one of my top academic schools. The challenge of going to an Ivy League school has always been something that excited me. That's what originally drew me there, then I got to meet with the coaches after being accepted and that was the final push for me to really want to go there," said Johnson.
