The Marion County Sheriff's Department is investigating a two-vehicle collision Tuesday.
The collision occurred at approximately 11:50 a.m. at mile marker 131 on Interstate 79 north near White Hall.
The sheriff's department said a car driven by Matthew Elliott, 37, was traveling south in a northbound lane when it hit another car, driven by Nicholas Carpenter, 34, who was traveling north. Elliott's car then flipped on its top.
Elliott was flown by Healthnet to Ruby Memorial Hospital and Carpenter was taken by ambulance to Ruby Memorial Hospital, according to the sheriff's department.
The sheriff's department said Thursday that both men are in stable condition and are expected to be released from the hospital in the next 24 hours.
There were no passengers in either of the vehicles, according to the sheriff's department.
According to West Virginia 511, both northbound lanes and one southbound lane were closed following the accident but have since reopened.
