    Clarksburg City Council approved a second reading of the ordinance to acquire the Rose Garden Theater, Thursday night.
    Clarksburg City Council met Thursday night to discuss ‘The Robinson Grand Theater', also known as the ‘Rose Garden Theater', that the city plans to acquire. 

Two businesses were cited following an alcohol compliance check conducted by the Monongalia County Sheriff's Office on April 25, according to a news release from the sheriff's department.

Monongalia County deputies, along with an operative, conducted alcohol compliance checks at 12 area businesses.

Sheriff's deputies said 10 out of 12 businesses checked did not sell to the underage operative.

Those 10 businesses are:

  • All-U-Need on Beechurst Avenue
  • Ashbrooke Liquor on Beechurst Avenue
  • Somker Friendly on Venture Drive
  • Kroger on Patteson Drive
  • BFS on University Avenue
  • Sheetz on Chestnut Ridge Road
  • Wal-Greens on Chestnut Ridge Road
  • Ashbrooke Express on Cheat Road
  • BFS on Venture Drive
  • Shop-N-Save on Venture Drive

The businesses that did sell alcohol to the underage operative were the BP on Beechurst Avenue and Mid Atlantic Market on Cheat Road.

Those cited for selling to the underage operative were Mid Atlantic Market employee Richard Woody, 23 of Parkersburg, and BP employee Kelsey Somerville, 21 of Winfield.
