Clarksburg Pilot Crash-Lands Plane in Indiana

A flight that left from the North Central West Virginia Airport Wednesday around 6:54 a.m. crash-landed in a field near Ingalls in Madison County, Indiana.

The pilot, Vincent Miele, 46, of Clarksburg, was headed to Indiana for business when the plane lost engine power. Miele began a descent for Metro Airport in Fishers, Indiana. The plane's engine failed at 5,000 feet, according to the Madison County Sheriff's Department.

Miele made a successful emergency landing near Ingalls in a field near County Road 1050 South and wasn't injured, according to WTHR in Indianapolis.

The Beech Fixed Wing Single-Engine is registered to WV Aviation LLC in Bridgeport, according to a FAA listing.
