Holly River State Park Trying to Make Up for Lost Time

Posted: Updated:

Superstorm Sandy came and went more than six months ago, but Holly River State Park is still feeling the effects.

The park's power is back on, after five months of outage, but it still doesn't have telephone service. Park superintendent Ken McClintic said even though it's headed in the right direction, it will be tough to make up for time lost to storm damage.

"This spring, we've lost about a week of cabin reservations, and we just opened the campground this morning, the first 19 sites anyway, so it's hurt quite a bit," McClintic said.

McClintic said he hopes the park will be fully restored within a year.
