Update

The Marion County Sheriff's Department has identified a man killed in a motorcycle accident on Interstate 79 in Marion County Saturday night.

Deputies said Roger Ford, 52, of Lost Creek, died of traumatic arrest. Witnesses told deputies that Ford passed a vehicle, lost control, and hit the cable barrier in the median. A doctor from out of town was the first one at the scene and tried to help keep Ford alert until EMS arrived.

Healthnet was flown in and EMS tried to resuscitate Ford. Ford died at the scene and was transported to United Hospital Center.

Original Story

Emergency crews were on scene Saturday night after an accident took place at mile marker 137 of Interstate 79 in Marion County.

It happened just before 10 p.m. in the southbound lane.

The Marion County Sheriff's Department said the driver later died, and was from Harrison County. The man was wearing a helmet, officials said.

Both lanes were closed for about 45 minutes.

The accident is still under investigation.
