    It was a celebratory day at West Virginia Wesleyan College as Senator Jay Rockefeller returned to campus for the first time in nearly eight years in an event with journalist Ted Koppel.

A Wayne County native is taking steps to put an end to hunger, literally.

Tom Knopp, 68, embarked on a journey that he calls 'Walking Out Hunger'.

He is hoping to walk 25 miles in all 55 counties of West Virginia to raise awareness and money for local food banks.

Monday was day 13, in Monongalia County.

"Walking has always been a passion for me. It's something that I enjoyed doing for the past 14 years. Anytime I wanted to raise money, I'd set out a challenge to walk a mile for every dollar donated," Knopp said.

Knopp hopes to raise $550,000 for food banks in West Virginia.
