Interim Superintendent Terry George to Become Randolph County Schools Superintendent

Posted: Updated:

The Randolph County Board of Education has chosen Terry George as its school superintendent.

George is currently serving as interim superintendent, a role he's had since last December when Doctor James Phares left to become state school superintendent.

George said the county is completing the goals it set last summer, and will establish new goals for next year.

George said he's ready to assume his new duties.

"Everyday is interesting I've really enjoyed to serve in this capacity. Looking forward to serving next year as superintendent, working with the board, the staff, and just being offered to serve the students of Randolph County," George said.

George also serves as assistant superintendent for operations.

He will give up that role when he becomes superintendent on July 1.
