Restaurant Road Trip: Stillwaters Restaurant

Posted: Updated:

Many people attend conferences at Stonewall Resort, and they can't wait for lunch at the resort from Stillwaters Restaurant, one of the three dining rooms on the resort grounds.

"Stillwaters Restaurant is our premiere restaurant here at the resort. We do a buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner every day. We also have a la carte options breakfast, lunch and dinner every day," said Tim White, executive chef at the resort.

When the weather stays nice, customers can enjoy a meal out on the patio. The restaurant may be in the lodge, but it's open to the public. That's not the only way the resort reaches out, either. White said the resort is committed to using locally produced food whenever possible.

"We've got some great local beef from a local farm, we've just procured some pastured local chicken from Terra Alta, we're going to be running that all summer long, so we're really excited about just reaching back out and just getting a hold of as much as we can locally," White said.

The resort carries a four-diamond rating, and that's something customers said they experience firsthand whenever they go there for a meal.

"It's always delicious, whether its buffet, whether it's ordered from the menu or whatever, it's always been absolutely delicious here," said Stillwaters patron Joy Messenger, who was attending a conference at the resort.

Messenger said she comes to the resort every two or three months. While the food brings her in, it's not the only thing that keeps her coming back.

"The second is just the atmosphere and the surroundings. It's like being in the middle of the country and you're right off the interstate, so that's a great place," said Messenger.

If you're looking to try out the resort's food and atmosphere, you're in luck. The resort is offering a chance to do that in the coming months.

"This summer we'll be doing a summer grilling series, where every Saturday outside we'll be grilling a special item, pairing that with some wine, and that'll be free, given out as a tasting, and then those items on the menu will be featured somewhere at the resort, either in Muskie's or the Stillwaters menu," White said.

Breakfast is served starting at 6:30 a.m. Monday through Saturday. The restaurant closes at 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday. On Sunday, brunch is served starting at 11 a.m.
