Former Webster County Resident Named WV Young Lawyer of the Year

Former Webster County Resident Jasmine Morton won the West Virginia Young Lawyer of the Year Award Friday night.

The West Virginia Bar Association gathered at Stonewall Resort and handed out awards to lawyers across the state. Morton said she didn't think that she had a shot at winning the award.

"I was flabbergasted and I am truly, truly so humbled to have been named young lawyer and to be elected as secretary by my peers. It means more than words can express," said Morton.

Morton also said she believes lawyers, like doctors, should live by the words, "First do no harm" and plans to base her career around those words.
