The West Virginia Chamber of Commerce is adding its plans to the growing list of the state's sesquicentennial celebrations.

The chamber announced May 12 it would host an open house to mark West Virginia's 150th birthday. The celebration will start at noon and conclude at 4 p.m. June 20 at the chamber's Charleston office at 1624 Kanawha Blvd. East in Charleston, which is near the West Virginia State Capitol Complex.

No reservations or registrations are required for the event, according to a news release from the chamber, and members of the chamber as well as the general public all are invited to the casual event.

Plans for the party include food items from West Virginia businesses as well as live music on the chamber's front lawn.
